Take those out and pull the light right out.
Here I use a 7mm socket with a ratchet and extension to remove those two screws. Then pull this back and there is another thumb screw right up here. Inside, you want to go right back up in here and remove this thumb screw here. To service your taillight, you will want to remove these two 7mm screws. The only tool you will need is a 7mm socket with a ratchet and extension or a 7mm wrench will work as well. Pretty much the same for any 2005 to 2010 Cobalt.
